Summer Break!

I have not posted since the end of school and now we only have like 3-4 weeks left before school starts again! Where has the summer went?! We haven't done a whole lot of anything. We normally go to Florida over Memorial day but because of ball season this year it just didn't work out. We were planning on going in July, but I decided that Florida in July is not my cup of tea this year! It's one thing to be hot, it's another thing to be hot and pregnant! We are in the middle of another remodel at our house. We have been gradually pulling out all of our carpet and refinishing the hardwood floor underneath and we are finally on the last part. Yeah!!!! My house is carpet free!! John will start the sanding when he gets home on Thursday. Trinity celebrated her 7th birthday on July 15th and had a really good time. I can't believe she's seven already.
This past week we had a bunch of family up from Florida. Dads brother Fred and his wife Diane, their daughter Tina and her husband Mark and son Chase, and their other daughter Amy and her husband Scott and their kids Leyton and Haven. We hung out with them all week and Trinity made some new friends. She already talking about how when we go to Florida next year that we have to go down and see Haven. Thursday we went to Holiday World with everyone and had a really good time, even though I had to sit on the sidelines this year! Friday I canned the first of many tomatoes for the year. It's almost time to sign up for school again and we can't wait to find out who her teacher is and who is all in her class. I'm not sure if I will be subbing again this year or not. We are waiting to see what happens. That's all for now. I will try to post more later. Oh yeah, Jonathon will be coming home Aug. 6th through Aug. 17th. Just a couple more weeks!!!

It's Been Awhile, Again

I know it's been awhile since I posted on here but life seems to move too fast. Since I posted last I went to my first drs. appointement and my estimated due date in Jan. 6th. I didn't see the dr. only the nurse so I go back on June 1st to see the dr. We had our annual yard sale which is always crazy but we always do really well. We are going to have another one on June 6th with the Odon yard sales to see if we can sell the rest! My brother Jon is home this week and we have been enjoying him being around. He has spent some of his evenings racing go-carts with dad down at the Miller race track in Montgomery. This is dads new hobby and thinks it is great! We went to Rachel's graduation on Friday, she's finally done and will start VU this fall. Two more days of school left and Trinity will be in first grade! It's hard to imagine she will be seven in July. When Trin goes to Jr. High I will be putting one in kindergarten and starting all over!! Leighann's sister and family were here from Nebraska for graduation. Leighann's neice and Trinity are best friends and played all day yesterday. Even at the race track last night they were running around and playing. They don't get to come very often but Trinity takes off with her friend like they see each other every day. It's so cool!

You better sit down for this!!

Are you sitting?

Ready?

Here goes!;)

Trinity is going to be a big sister in January!!! Yes I know everyone gave up on me but it's true and we are all very happy. The baby is actually due around Mom and Lou's b-day! Wouldn't that be the coolest! Trinity told EVERYONE at school, even the Assistant Principal! She is sooooo excited. Well that's all for now. Will post more later.

Circus & Zoo

Last night I took Trin to the circus at our school. She loved it, even though it was a little cheesy! Yesterday morning all of the school kids got to go over to the high school and watch the elephants raise the big tent. We had ball practice last night so I had to leave the circus early to go to practice but Trin stayed with a friend of mine to finish watching the circus. She came to practice when the circus was over. Our first game is a week from tomorrow, so I am trying to get in as many practices as I can. We have practice again tonight and tomorrow. Today was Trinity's field trip with her kindergarten class. So we took off to Mesker Zoo in Evansville for the day. We only stayed at the zoo about 2 hours but this was long enough for all of the kids. And what a wonderful day to go to the zoo.

Easter Recap

Saturday morning we went to an Easter egg hunt at Elnora. Normally they have a really good hunt, but this year I was not very impressed. Trin had fun so I guess that's all that matters. Then that afternoon we finally had our first ball practice, in the mud! Sunday, we went to Crystal's for lunch and another egg hunt. Needless to say, we have plenty of candy. After getting home from Crystal's, we went down to John's aunt Melodys house for a get together with the Knepp family. Now we are off to bed to get ready for another busy week. I have all next week scheduled to sub. at school. I was scheduled all last week also. I will probably work the rest of the school year. I have been booked solid since February, which is a good thing.

Spring Break

We had spring break this week so Thursday afternoon we headed down to French Lick to go to the new water park. It was really neat but I thought it was more for little kids. Trinity had a blast! We stayed at the hotel last night, and went back to the park today for a few hours. Everyone was exhausted and ready to come home.

As you could see from the pictures, we went with our friends, Mike and Priscilla Malone and their kids, Ethan and Miriley. After we left the water park, we stopped by West Baden Springs Hotel to show Trin and Nicole the dome atrium. It is the neatest place. They were setting up for a huge welcome party for some National Guard troops, so they didn't have the furniture out like usual but it was still really awesome!

Taking Care of Braylei

Trin and I are just hanging out today, babysitting Braylei. Annie watched her all night last night and then brought her over here this morning before she went to school. Nicole came in and helped for a little while and just now went home. We ate lunch, played with toys, gave Trin and Braylei a bath, then put Braylei down for a nap. She is now nine months old and is alot more work. Kinda forgot what it is like! She went to sleep around 1pm so hopefully she will sleep for a little while. Nicole put Braylei in the toy basket earlier and Braylei thought it was pretty neat.

We will probably have her until LeighAnn gets off of work around 8:00pm. She is a pretty good baby and absolutely LOVES Trin.

First Tooth!!

We had another first last night. Trinity finally lost her first tooth. Her bottom two teeth have been loose for a while but last night she bit down wrong and it really got loose. As she was looking in the mirror wiggling her tooth, it popped out and she almost swallowed it. She was fine until it started bleeding! Here is a picture that she wanted to take.

She was so excited that she could take her tooth in for show and tell today but then she woke up again this morning with the flu! She was better yesterday but got it back again during the night. So we are home again today getting better. I told her that she could take her tooth tomorrow.

Flu Again!!

Yes, we are home with the flu again!! Trinity starting puking around 10pm last night and I had to call and cancel school again. It seems like the flu bug just won't leave the school. The other morning four kids got sick either on the bus or in the foyer at school before the bell even rang! Having never sent Trinity to daycare, we are not used to being this sick this often.

I worked all of last week and then my husband John came home on Wednesday. Saturday we headed up to the semi-state with everyone. And yes, we got beat. It was a good game the first half with us leading and then the second half was a different story. Anyway, it wasn't a blow out just 4-6 points. It was exciting for us anyways. Saturday night Annie and Jordan came over and we grilled out and watched a movie. And that's about as exciting as it gets around here.

Trinity & Braylei

We have been outside playing alot these last couple of days and cleaning up the yard. I am sure everyone else has been too. Today is suppose to be the last nice day for awhile, so we took advantage of it. LeighAnn, Rachel and Nicole brought Braylei in so we could all go for a walk. Trin decided that it would be best to put her and Braylei in the wagon and we could just pull them. :) I just think she didn't want to walk. It was a good thing that we had lots of people to take turns pulling the wagon, we probably had a combined weight of around 70lbs. Talk about a workout! Here are some pictures of our day and alot of Braylei's "firsts".

I misspelled Makayla's name in the slide but I didn't want to go back to fix it, oh well. We had a scare last night as our other dog Layla starting having seizures. The vet is hoping it is a vitamin deficiency (sp?) so we are going to try dog vitamins. He said seizures are common in Chihauhau's but not until they are much older. Hopefully the vitamins will work. Anyway, that's all for now. I probably won't update for a few days, but hopefully I can update with a Cougar win on Saturday!!

For those of you that haven't heard, the Cougars are going to semi-state!!! We beat Borden 49-37 in the championship game of regional. Very good game. This is our first regional win in 50 years! Go Cougars!!!

By The Way

In regards to my previous post, I do feel for BR though. As far as the bad call on Friday night, the same thing happened to ND in the final game of football sectional and against Loogootee in season play. We know how bad it feels to lose from a bad call. But, it was not North Daviess's fault, we didn't make the call. Some of the BR fans out there need to remember that.

We Won!

Saturday, John's aunt and uncle from North Dakota stopped in for a nice visit. They were heading down to Florida and decided to stop by to visit for a little while. They hadn't seen Trinity since she was a baby. We went out to eat at the Essen Haus with them and some of Anita's family from here. We had a nice time. Luckily, they left Sat. night and didn't stick around for the nasty weather on Sunday. Saturday was dads birthday so I was planning a dinner at my house on Sunday for everyone. Unfortunately, dad, LeighAnn and Rachel all had the stomach flu so it was just us and Jordan and Annie. We had a good day and played some cards until the weather hit. Our weather radio went off warning us of the impending weather and John and I were debating about whether we were going to go to a friends house to take cover, when our tornado sirens went off in town. We decided that we should probably leave. We were very fortunate again as the tornado hit about 2 miles south of town. The National Weather Service is saying that it was just straight line winds, but we have talked to several people that watched it move across the fields. Regardless, the damage is still the same. We did not regain power until around 3:30 am Monday and school was delayed 2 hours. Last night dad, LeighAnn and I all went to the final game of sectional. Yeah, we won!! Sorry Barr-Reeve fans! I was glad to see that some Barr-Reeve fans showed up to watch the game and they even sat on Rivet's side wearing Mardi-Gras beads in Rivet's colors. At least they got a good look at ALL the ND fans when we won. There were even some BR fans sitting on our side cheering for the other side. Needless to say, it didn't take the officials long to remove them. I know that not all BR fans have poor sportsmanship. Anyway, hopefully we will do well on Saturday.

Blah, Blah, Blah!

Once again I noticed that it has been awhile since I posted last. When nothing too exciting happens I don't even think about posting. Anyway, school is finally back on schedule after all of our snow. I was afraid I was going to go stir crazy if they cancelled one more time. Since John left for Iowa on the Wednesday of the big snow, it was just me and Trin 24/7. I was definately ready to go back to school. Since I substitute teach, I missed out on several days that I had scheduled. So when I had this whole week booked between the two schools, I was glad. But as I have heard before, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans"! Tuesday morning about 3:30 I was woke up to the "wonderful" sound that will bring any mother straight up out of bed, vomit! Yes, Trin woke me up as she got sick all over her bed. That is how the night and the whole next day turned out, then I got it too. So we were both home yesterday and today but are feeling well and hopefully will both return to school tomorrow. I feel horrible being a sub. and calling in sick, they have to get a sub. for the sub.!
Anyway, John left again today for Iowa. He will be gone a week again. While he was home this week we were working on refinishing hardwood flooring in a bedroom and hallway. When we constructed our addition to the house a couple of years ago, we found that we have real oak hardwood throughout the house. So one room at a time we are pulling carpet and refinishing the floor. It is really dusty work but the end result is nice. We now have half of the "old" house done.

Finally, Snow!

Finally, they are calling for measurable snow! Maybe we might actually get some this time. Trin has been complaining all winter that there hasn't been any snow to go sledding in. Don't get me wrong, winter is not my favorite season but I know we have to go through the cold to get the warm back. But if we have to have cold, I would prefer to have some snow to go with it. I guess we will see in the forcasters are correct this time.

This morning we headed to Bloomington to take Trin to the dentist. She just needed a cleaning but they found a cavity also so we will have that filled in a month. I take her to a wonderful pediatric dentist and they are wonderful with her. She thinks it is wonderful and has been asking since her previous visit when she gets to go back to the dentist. When we got home I had to start on my house cleaning because Mondays are my days when I deep clean. I got a late start but I have everything finished but laundry. But does anyone ever really get laundry finished?

Anyway, my husband John will be leaving for Iowa again Wednesday. They are starting a 7 day rotation, seven in Iowa, seven home, etc. This is not a very good time of year to be traveling northwest but the highways should stay pretty clear.

By the way, sorry to hear about Barr-Reeve's luck Sat. night! Better luck next year! Trinity wanted to go to the Buggy Bowl so bad. This has been a pretty hot topic at school so she thought she just HAD to go. We were on our way there and she asked if they were really going to bowl?! When she found out that it was just a regular basketball game, that was way too noisy, she was not near as excited. She ended up keeping TP in her ears and playing her V-smile pocket through both games. Oh, and we made at least 10 trips up and down the stairs for snacks and restroom breaks!

New Puppy

Friday after new years, we went to the pet store in Washington only to buy a new hampster cage. We seen the cutest long hair chihauhau puppies in there and Trinity just had to hold one. No big deal, right. Wrong!! She immediately started crying to take one home. We already have a dog and a cat so this was NOT in our plans. We left the pet store and made it down the road a little ways and John and I talked ourselves into going back to get the puppy. OK, whatever. So we gave in! Who can't resist a really cute puppy that at 12 weeks old can still fit in the palm of your hand!! Anyway, tonight we got home from Wal-Mart and I went to feed the hampster and can you believe the thing DIED! One week. That's it. We bought a new hampster cage and a puppy for the hampster to only live ONE WEEK. That's how my luck goes. Anyway, we had to give the dog a fairytale name so his name is Prince Charming, AKA Prince. On the second day of having the puppy the he was biting Trin like all puppies do and she said "If I knew this is what having a puppy was like, I wouldn't have wanted one"! She has since found out that having a puppy is not all fun and games.

Anyway on a completely different note. Tomorrow is my brother Jon's 26th b-day. Happy birthday! He is still in NC but got promoted to corporal on Monday. I talked to him this morning and he was still pretty excited about his promotion.
