Saturday, John's aunt and uncle from North Dakota stopped in for a nice visit. They were heading down to Florida and decided to stop by to visit for a little while. They hadn't seen Trinity since she was a baby. We went out to eat at the Essen Haus with them and some of Anita's family from here. We had a nice time. Luckily, they left Sat. night and didn't stick around for the nasty weather on Sunday. Saturday was dads birthday so I was planning a dinner at my house on Sunday for everyone. Unfortunately, dad, LeighAnn and Rachel all had the stomach flu so it was just us and Jordan and Annie. We had a good day and played some cards until the weather hit. Our weather radio went off warning us of the impending weather and John and I were debating about whether we were going to go to a friends house to take cover, when our tornado sirens went off in town. We decided that we should probably leave. We were very fortunate again as the tornado hit about 2 miles south of town. The National Weather Service is saying that it was just straight line winds, but we have talked to several people that watched it move across the fields. Regardless, the damage is still the same. We did not regain power until around 3:30 am Monday and school was delayed 2 hours. Last night dad, LeighAnn and I all went to the final game of sectional. Yeah, we won!! Sorry Barr-Reeve fans! I was glad to see that some Barr-Reeve fans showed up to watch the game and they even sat on Rivet's side wearing Mardi-Gras beads in Rivet's colors. At least they got a good look at ALL the ND fans when we won. There were even some BR fans sitting on our side cheering for the other side. Needless to say, it didn't take the officials long to remove them. I know that not all BR fans have poor sportsmanship. Anyway, hopefully we will do well on Saturday.
